Territorial authority areasThis section provides social report indicator information for people living in the 73 territorial authority (TA) areas of New Zealand. For indicators based on Quality of Life Survey data, information is available only for the 12 TA areas with the largest populations* - the “big cities”. The section begins with summary population data to provide context. All the information in this section is in table format. * The 12 TA areas referred to in the Quality of Life Survey as the “big cities” are: Rodney District, North Shore City, Waitakere City, Auckland City, Manukau City, Hamilton City, Tauranga City, Porirua City, Lower Hutt City, Wellington City, Christchurch City, Dunedin City.
